Target's support of active-duty military, veterans and their families extends beyond Independence and Veterans Day. We have created opportunities for our guests to support military- and veteran-focused organizations by voting to direct community giving funds to nonprofits in our top military markets.

Although Target does not offer a year-round military discount, they do offer a 10% discount in early November in honor of Veterans Day and have a similar promotion for Independence Day. The appreciation discount is available for all U.S. active-duty military personnel, veterans and their families.

Once you're logged in, go to “Account,” then “Settings,” and click “I'm a service member or dependent.” Then, verify your name, birthday, branch and service status and click “Verify.” Once verified, you'll see your 10% military discount in your Target Circle dashboard when you log in online or use the mobile app.

The military has clear guideposts that shape its culture, and veterans will feel welcome and engaged when businesses hold a similar sense of purpose and direction.

Individual stores and businesses DO occasionally offer discounts to military members and to other special interest groups as an encouragement for those people to shop in their stores and to buy their products. It's just a cost of doing business.
