Have you ever thought about making your own flour tortillas? You may think it sounds like a daunting task, but it is quite the opposite!
These homemade flour tortillas are SO easy to make and come out soft and tender. And, did I mention how tasty they are?
Flour tortillas are perfect for soft tacos, burritos, quesadillas, enchiladas, wraps and so much more. They are one of those things that once you start making and using them, you will find all sorts of ideas for them.
To form these tortillas you can either roll and flatten them by hand, or to make things easier you can use a tortilla press.
Oh, and for a sweet treat, you can brush with a little butter and add a little cinnamon sugar on top. YUM!

Homemade Flour Tortillas Recipe
Ingredients:
3 cups All-Purpose Flour
1 tsp Salt
1 tsp Baking Powder
1/2 cup Vegetable Oil
1 cup Warm Water
How to make Flour Tortillas:
Using a stand mixer, whisk dry ingredients until combined.
Add water and oil and mix, scraping down the sides as needed until ball forms.
Mix for two more minutes until dough is smooth.
Turn out onto floured work surface and divide into 16 pieces and roll each into a ball. You can use any rolling pin, but for the easiest results try a non stick rolling pinlike this. It is asilicone non-stick rolling pinand it makes rolling dough so much easier!
Allow to rest for 10 minutes.
Preheat skillet over medium heat.
Roll out each ball into a 6″ circle.
Cook each tortilla on first side for about a minute, until brown spots form, then flip and cook other side for about 20 seconds.
Stack cooked tortillas and wrap in a clean towel to cool.
If not being used immediately, store in a zip lock bag.
When it’s time to serve your tortillas, keep them warm on the table with a tortilla warmer.
