Roku devices have hidden menus that allow you to see more information and change settings. Here’s how to access the Roku secret menus.
Roku devices allow you to make your dumb TV smart. Simply plug one into the HDMI port of your TV, and you can stream a wide range of channels, including Disney Plus, Amazon Prime, Netflix, Apple TV, and more.
Roku devices have a fairly simple interface without too many settings to tweak. However, pressing a series of buttons on your Roku remote will open a Roku secret menu that provides additional information and settings that aren’t normally accessible. There are a number of these secret menus which offer channel information, Wi-Fi details, and more.
Here’s how to access the Roku secret menus.
How to Access the Roku Wireless Secret Menu
The Wireless secret menu lets you see information about the Wi-Fi connection to your Roku device. You can see information such as signal strength and channel information.
- Press Home five times.
- Press Up, Down, Up, Down, Up.
The Wi-Fi menu should open.
How to Access the Roku Images and Ads Secret Menu
This menu allows you to customize your Roku interface and setup. This includes settings such as the default screenshot file format, whether scrollable ads are enabled, whether gaming remote pairing is on at boot, as well as resetting your added channels list.
- Press Home five times.
- Press Up, Right, Down, Left, Up.
The Images and Ads secret menu should open.
How to Access the Update and Reset Secret Menu
This menu allows you to manually update your software and gives you the option to perform a factory reset.
- Press Home five times.
- Immediately press Fast Forward three times.
- Press Rewindtwice.
The Update and Reset secret menu should open.
How to Access the Roku Platform Secret Menu
The platform secret screen gives you information about your Roku device. This includes the device temperature, CPU speed, and IP address. From this hidden menu, you can also access other menus, such as the System Operations menu and the RF remote menu.
- Press Home five times.
- Press Fast Forward, Pause, Rewind, Pause, Fast Forward.

How to Access the Roku Channel Info Secret Menu
The Channel Info secret menu provides information about the channels you have installed on your Roku device. This includes the version and build of those channels.
- Press Home three times.
- Immediately press Up twice.
- Press Left, Right, Left, Right, Left.

How to Access the HDMI Secret Menu
You also might have heard of the HDMI secret menu and wondered what it did. The HDMI secret menu provides information on the resolutions and refresh rates that are supported by your device.
- Press Home five times.
- Immediately press Down, thenLeft.
- Press Up three times.
The HDMI secret menu should open.
How to Access the Roku Developer Secret Menu
Unlike some of the other Roku secret menus, the Developer secret menu doesn’t provide any information. Its purpose is to allow you to enable the Developer Application Installer. Once you have done so, the Roku device will restart. You can then access the installer from a web browser by navigating to the IP address of your Roku device.
- Press Home three times.
- Immediately press Up twice.
- Press Right, Left, Right, Left, Right.
The Developer secret menu should open.
How to Access the Reboot Secret Menu
This isn’t really a menu at all. It’s simply a code that will reboot your Roku device. Once you enter it, your Roku will no longer respond to the remote until it has completely rebooted.
- Press Home five times.
- Press Up, Rewind, Rewind, Fast Forward, Fast Forward.
Your Roku will seem to freeze and won’t respond to the remote. After a short while, your Roku will reboot.
How to Access the Bit Rate Override Secret Menu
This menu has been removed since the Roku OS 10.5 update. Since Roku devices update automatically, you can no longer access this menu, which allows you to set the bit rate for streaming.

I tried to find out if something I pressed on roku remote caused the voice , that was working, on the tuck tv to go to mute and send only captioned after command, sampling; who said “there’s no place like home” ? It used to tell me orally, not no more. I read someplace google assistant would stop by January 2023, but it is I possibly, to get answered in Roku support, after log in, this is a really good company.
