Global pop sensation Taylor Swift just cannot seem to stop breaking records when it comes to her music, and she reached yet another milestone this week.
Swift already holds a number of global streaming records, even setting one last month when her song"All Too Well (10 Minute Version) (Taylor’s Version) (From The Vault)" surpassed one billion streams on Spotify, becoming the longest song to hit the mark.
This week, Swift hit yet another historic mark.
On Tuesday, April 15, her album "1989" officially surpassed 9 billion streams. This now gives Taylor five different albums with more than 9 billion streams, the most of any artist in history.
Swift's other albums with 9 billion streams are "Lover," "Midnights," "Folklore," and "Reputation."
Needless to say, this announcement quickly turned heads on social media as fans offered their reactions to her latest milestone.
"You know an artist makes good music when the general public consumed a whole album not just the singles," one fan wrote in a post on X.
"taylor swift is the only artist in history…, taylor swift becomes the first artist in history…, they will always be my favorite headlines,"someone else added.
"every time i see a headline that starts with taylor being the first or only artist to do something i'm like... yea she rlly is the music industry,"another fan wrote on X.
"mind you she did not have her music on spotify until 2017," someone else pointed out, making this accomplishment even more impressive.
"It's her world and we're living in it,"someone else added.
"Queen of spotify and queen of stadium tours," another fan wrote.
It's obviously an eye-popping and historic accomplishment from the global pop sensation. Based on her career trajectory, it's pretty clear that she's going to keep making this kind of history in the future.
