Is 3 nights in Lake Como enough? ›

If you have the time to stay in Lake Como for 4 days or longer, I cannot recommend enough to do it. There are so many beautiful places to explore and so many things to do.

Stunning mountain scenery

Lake Como is a must-visit to add to your bucket list if you love the mountains. Located in northern Italy's Lombardy region, the majestic Bergamo Alps surround the lake. Cloaked in green during the summer and white during winter, these peaks provide beautiful scenery all throughout the year.

There are over 30 wooden stalls selling traditional Christmas foods from all over Italy at the Christmas Market, located in Cavour Square and Plinio Street.

The regions that stand on the shores of the lake become real Christmas villages, where adults and children can let their imagination run wild with multiple plans to do and enjoy with the family. That's why a trip to this region during the Christmas season is one of the best things to see and do in Lake Como.

FOUR TO FIVE DAYS. Lake Como is one of the most serene destinations in Italy, and you'll want to explore at a relaxed pace to really enjoy the surroundings and soak in the ambiance. There are several towns, hamlets and villages to visit, but all are tiny and it's possible to see multiple destinations in a single day.

Many think that Lake Como is a good stop for a couple of nights and then they should move on but they are mistaken. 2-3 days are not enough to explore Lake Como and its surroundings! Lake Como is the perfect location for a longer stay – even a week or more – in Northern Italy.

If you suffer from the cold, probably Lake Como is not your ideal winter destination. Winter temperatures drop dramatically, and so do the daylight hours.

In Como the food is somewhat costly the closer you get to the water, and the quality is not that great. In Bellagio you are going to pay a good amount of money for your meal, and everything is inflated compared to the other towns. Varenna is less expensive if you get away from the water on their main road.

Lake Como is the sort of destination that can be visited briefly in a day, or you can soak up the atmosphere of Italy's most-revered lake slowly over a full week. My recommendation though would be to spend three days in Lake Como.

How Many Days In Lake Como? 4 days in Lake Como allowed us to get a snapshot of what the area has to offer, but we could have easily stuck around for a week or even longer. There are tons of little towns and areas to explore.

With just two days in Lake Como, you'll get a taste of its natural beauty, charming villages, and luxurious ambience. Although there is much more to explore in this enchanting region, this itinerary will give you a memorable glimpse into the magic of Lake Como.

We suggest you a one-week itinerary that will allow you to discover Bellagio and its surroundings. You will have the opportunity to visit gardens and villas and discover the history of a wonderful area surrounded by the lake and the mountains that enhance it.
